The Ring You’ll Never Want to Take Off
Some pieces of jewellery are worn. Others are lived in. The Aurelia Solitaire Ring belongs firmly to the second category — a brilliant-cut solitaire cradled on a polished gold band, designed to move with you from morning chai to midnight celebrations without ever feeling like an effort. It is the kind of ring that becomes part of your hand’s vocabulary: the weight you reach for, the flash you catch in a mirror and smile at, the quiet constant in a day full of variables.
At its heart sits a brilliant-cut stone, chosen not merely for size but for fire. Every Aurelia stone is hand-selected for the way it handles light — the sharp white flashes in sunlight, the softer rainbow play under indoor lamps, the deep glow it holds in candlelight. The brilliant cut, with its fifty-eight precisely angled facets, is the most light-hungry cut in jewellery, and it shows. This is a stone that announces itself without shouting.
Design Notes
The setting is a classic four-prong solitaire, engineered to lift the stone high enough to drink in light from every angle while keeping the profile low enough for everyday wear. The prongs are softly rounded — no sharp claws to snag on knitwear or dupattas — and each is polished to the same mirror finish as the band, so the metal seems to dissolve and the stone appears to float.
The band itself is a study in restraint: a gently rounded comfort-fit shank, polished to a high shine, with just enough presence to balance the stone. It tapers almost imperceptibly toward the setting, drawing the eye upward. There is no pavé, no halo, no distraction — the Aurelia’s confidence comes from proportion, not ornament. This is the solitaire in its purest, most enduring form.
Craftsmanship
Each Aurelia is cast, set, and finished by hand. The band begins as a wax model, cast in solid gold using the lost-wax method that jewellers have trusted for centuries. After casting, the ring is filed, sanded through progressively finer grits, and polished in three stages to achieve the liquid-mirror finish you see. The setting is then cut by hand to seat the stone at the precise depth where light return is maximized — a fraction of a millimetre too high and the stone looks perched; too low and it goes dark. Our setters work to tolerances measured in tenths of millimetres.
Before any Aurelia leaves the atelier, it passes a three-point inspection: stone security (each prong tested under magnification), finish quality (checked under raking light for any ripple or dull spot), and comfort (the inner shank verified smooth, with edges softly eased so the ring slides on without pinching and sits without rocking).
Materials
The Aurelia is crafted in high-polish gold-tone metal over a solid brass core, finished with a thick layer of 18k gold plating applied by electro-deposition for depth and durability. The solitaire is a premium brilliant-cut cubic zirconia, hand-matched for colour (near-colourless, equivalent to D–F on the diamond scale) and clarity (eye-clean, with no visible inclusions). The result is the look and presence of fine jewellery at a price that doesn’t require a special occasion to justify.
How to Wear It
The Aurelia is that rare piece that works as hard as you do. Wear it solo on the ring finger for the classic solitaire statement — it needs no company. For a more contemporary look, stack it with the Rope Twist Bangle on the same hand, or pair it with the Etoile Diamond Studs for a matched brilliance that reads intentional without being matchy.
It layers beautifully with other rings too: try it between two slim bands on the middle finger, or wear it on the index finger for a bolder, fashion-forward gesture. The low profile means it slides comfortably under gloves and doesn’t catch on fine fabrics — a practical luxury for daily wear.
Occasions
Engagements and proposals are the obvious chapter — the Aurelia’s classic solitaire silhouette is the universal shorthand for commitment. But its real life is in the everyday: the office, where it catches light during a presentation; dinners, where it glints over a glass; weddings and Eids, where it holds its own beside heirloom pieces without competing. It is equally at home with a crisp white shalwar kameez and with an evening gown. Few rings span that range.
Gifting
The Aurelia arrives in Zenwia’s signature gift box — deep navy, gold-foil logo, the ring nestled in a cream velvet insert — with a care card and authenticity note. It is our most-gifted piece for proposals, and a close second for milestone birthdays and anniversaries. If you’re proposing, a note: the comfort-fit shank runs true to size, but if you’re between sizes, choose the larger — resizing is straightforward and we guide you through it.
Care Instructions
Gold plate loves gentle handling. Put your Aurelia on after perfume, lotion, and hairspray — chemicals are the enemy of plating. Remove it for swimming (chlorine), heavy workouts, and household cleaning. Clean it by soaking for ten minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, brushing softly with a baby toothbrush around the prongs, rinsing, and patting dry with a lint-free cloth. Store it alone in its box or a soft pouch so harder stones don’t scratch the band. With this routine, the Aurelia’s shine will last for years; when the plating eventually softens with wear, our replating service restores it to new.
